THE STORY
I grew up watching my dad compete in powerlifting. I was at meets from as far back as I can remember - the chalk, the bars, the atmosphere. It shaped everything. By 13 I was competing myself. By my late teens I'd won three World titles and seven British Championships.
Strength training wasn't something I came to. It was something I was born into.
"He didn't just want to watch. He wanted to lift."
Fast forward to 2021. My son arrived, and almost immediately, history started repeating itself. He was in my home gym constantly - watching, copying, wanting to be part of it.
The problem wasn't that kids' fitness equipment was unsafe. It was that he wasn't interested in any of it. Water-filled plastic plates, cheap mass-produced sets - he'd pick them up once and walk away. Then he'd go straight for my equipment. A full-size barbell. Real plates. Because that's what looked real. And that wasn't safe for a toddler.
So I built something that was. MiniFit products are precision manufactured and individually crafted - knurling on the barbell, competition colours, properly scaled for a 3 to 6 year old. Not a toy. Real equipment, made right, for kids who already know the difference.
WHY THIS MATTERS BEYOND THE GYM
My day job is NHS Lifestyle Coach. I work with people making positive changes to their health - building small, sustainable habits that fit around real life, whatever that looks like for them.
It's shown me that the habits built earliest are the ones that last longest.
MiniFit sits at that same intersection. Not a toy - the first piece of real equipment a child ever picks up. Strength, movement, confidence. Built early, carried for life.

HOW WE MAKE & TEST
Every MiniFit product is precision manufactured in the UK, individually crafted using advanced 3D printing with PLA+ - an engineered thermoplastic chosen for its superior impact resistance, durability, and non-toxic, food-safe properties. Each piece is built to sub-millimetre accuracy.
We're working towards third-party safety certification and will update this page when complete. In the meantime, every product is tested with an engineer's approach to materials and a coach's understanding of how equipment actually gets used.
